Recent comments from a  executives makes it clear Samsung Cell Phones want to be a leader in Samsung VS Apple iPhone.

``But the one clear thing is that Samsung hopes to become a genuine rival for Apple and the anticipated smartphone is part of its strategy to do so,’’ said a senior analyst at a Europe-based investment bank in Seoul.

``We will do it,’’ said a KT spokeswoman Kim Yoon-jeong. Kim Ji-won, a spokeswoman for SK made a similar comment.

Samsung has been on the heals of the Top Android Phones with The Galaxy S Phones. The new Galaxy S 4G will give Apple iPhone a run for the money, but Samsung has their work cut out.

Apple iPhone is now accessable to the majority of wireless users around the world. That said wireless users have becaome more savvy over the last couple years. The introduction of Android has shown consumers they have choices.

``Tensions are high between Samsung and Apple for the release timing of the iPhone 5 and the could-be Galaxy S3 or LTE smartphones,’’ said a top-ranking SK Telecom executive, adding carriers and phone makers are being pressurized to spend more on marketing.

When you take into consideration that most cell phone users just want something that works Samsung is well on its way to the top.
